About this quiz
Dozens of franchises have won a single NBA title, but only 11 have ever won it twice or more — and two of them tower over everyone else. Type a team (city or nickname both work) to fill its slot and reveal its championship count, covering every Finals from 1947 through 2026. Titles are credited to the modern franchise, so a certain team’s early-era championships count under its current name.
Frequently asked questions
Do relocated franchises keep their old titles?
Yes — titles follow the franchise. The Warriors’ count includes their Philadelphia-era championships and the Lakers’ includes Minneapolis, which is how both reach the top of the list.
Which one-title teams just miss the list?
Plenty of famous ones — a single championship isn’t enough here, which is exactly what makes the quiz hard. If your guess isn’t lighting up, the team probably won it exactly once.
Where does the data come from?
Open sports data: NBA Finals results assembled from Wikidata and the hoopR open dataset (CC-BY), covering 1947–2026. One early edition (1951) is missing from the open sources, but its winner took a single title, so this list is unaffected.
