The Father's Day memory match has one rule and you should enforce it strictly: Dad picks the theme, everyone else picks the difficulty. He will pick hard. He will lose the first round to a nine-year-old on easy. This is the tradition working as intended.
Best-of-five across two devices side by side works well for the competitive version — matching deck, same difficulty, and the winner is whoever clears it in fewer moves. The vinyl-records and classic-cars decks were practically commissioned for this.
For the quieter version, grandad-friendly easy boards with the fishing deck and a cup of tea is the whole plan, and a good plan it is too.
Choose your difficulty
Every father's day game runs at three levels — easy, medium and hard — switched inside the game at any time. Start easy for little ones, or jump to hard if you fancy the challenge.
