About this quiz

Every La Liga title in the committed match record, in one quiz — 12 seasons of champions. Get through this and the per-season quizzes below go far deeper: final tables, real scorelines, points totals.

How to play

  1. Press Start. Each question offers four answers — only one is right.
  2. Correct picks turn green; wrong ones reveal the right choice, often with a bonus fact.
  3. Answer all 15 questions to get your score — then try to beat your best.

A two-club competition, with exceptions

La Liga runs the same shape as most European leagues — twenty clubs, thirty-eight matches, three points a win, three relegated — but its title record is unusually concentrated. Barcelona and Real Madrid have taken the overwhelming majority of championships, and the meetings between them, El Clásico, are among the most-watched club fixtures in world sport.

The exceptions are what make the quiz interesting. Atlético Madrid breaking through in 2013/14 is the standout in the range covered here, and it is worth noting that our source data spells that club two different ways across seasons — the quiz merges them, so the record book counts one club rather than two.

Why the tie-break rule differs

Unlike the Premier League, La Liga separates clubs level on points by head-to-head record first, and only then by goal difference. It is a small difference with real consequences: the same two seasons could produce different champions under the two systems, which is a good reminder that "who finished top" is a function of the rulebook and not only of the football.

Frequently Asked

Who has won the most La Liga titles?

Barcelona with 6. 3 different winners appear across the 12 editions in this quiz.

Who won the most recent La Liga?

Real Madrid, in 2023/24.

Where do these questions come from?

Every question is generated from the verified match record (openfootball, public domain) — the same dataset behind our quiz videos. Nothing is written from memory, and anything ambiguous in the record is left out rather than guessed.

How does La Liga break ties on points?

Head-to-head record between the tied clubs comes first, then goal difference — the reverse of the Premier League, which uses goal difference first.

Why does the record book show fewer winners than I expected?

Our source spells Atlético Madrid two different ways across seasons. The quiz merges those spellings into one club, so the count reflects clubs rather than name variants.
