Autumn is the term where everyone relearns how to concentrate, children and adults alike. A memory match is the gentlest possible warm-up: three minutes of genuine focus, dressed up in leaves and acorns, at the kitchen table before school or as the wind-down after it.
The evenings draw in just in time, too. October half-term is the first holiday of the year when "it's dark and we are inside" becomes the default, and a rotation through the autumn, forest and fox decks keeps the half-term screen time from going stale.
For the adults: hard mode, twelve pairs, after the clocks go back. Consider it seasonal training for remembering where you put the house keys — the first dark-morning fumble is coming.
Choose your difficulty
Every autumn game runs at three levels — easy, medium and hard — switched inside the game at any time. Start easy for little ones, or jump to hard if you fancy the challenge.
